About ISSA
Mission
The goal of ISSA is to effectively manage a national high school sailing program in both private and public high schools, that is executed throughout its seven district associations, which structure various regattas as well as a system of national championships. As the national voice for high school sailing in and at US SAILING, ISSA is also a proud member organization of US SAILING.
History
While ISSA had its origins in the preparatory schools of the Northeast in 1930, it is now a nationwide organization (see ISSA National District Map to the right) with active districts in the Northeast (NESSA), Mid Atlantic (MASSA), South Atlantic (SAISA), Southeast (SEISA), Midwest (MISSA), Pacific Coast (PCISA), and Northwest (NWISA). ISSA has developed a set of By-Laws to further the sport of high school sailing nationally. These By-Laws organize competing schools, and standardize rules and procedures. Click here to view the complete By-Laws.
